How 'bout some Haggard?

Had a great time at the Wagoner Bluegrass & Chili Festival over the weekend.

This was the first year after the change in host city from Claremore to Wagoner, and I'd have to say I thought it was a bit of an improvement in some ways from the Claremore location. Of course this was Wagoner's first time to host the event, so they will have years to refine their presentation and work out the kinks...but it was smooth and enjoyable from my perspective.

This event typically discourages recording (for those of you who don't know, I LOVE to record live concerts) so I played it safe and didn't record this year, but I did spend some time re-listening to the recordings I made (using stealth ninja skills) last year. And one of my favorite acts was Dave Adkins ( He did a great rendition of Lonesome Fugitive by Merle Haggard and it inspired me to take the song for a spin.

I'll be playing the Coweta Fall Festival this Saturday at 1:15, so I may not get a chance to record my take till the weekend...but stay tuned for another tune to check out!
